
Steve's Dutch Oven Chili

- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 26 oz can red kidney beans
- 1 28 oz can of diced tomatoes (can be with green peppers and onions)
- 1 small yellow onion
- 1 Red, Yellow or Green Pepper
- Chili Powder to taste
- Italian Seasoning to taste
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- Garlic Powder to taste
- Crisco to grease down dutch oven and cast iron pan
EditPreparation
Cook up hamburger, onions and pepper in a greased cast iron pan.
While cooking hamburger, grease up 2 quart dutch oven with Crisco, mix beans, tomatoes, and spices in dutch oven.
Once hamburger is finished, mix with other ingredients in dutch oven and place in coals.
Let simmer in dutch oven for about 30-45 minutes. You may need to add a little bit of water as the juice evaporates.
Once finished, serve with favorite breads or saltine crackers.
Makes -- 2 Quarts!!
